Omar Melvin Ellefson

Omar Ellefson, 85, of Fort Collins died Wednesday, November 21st at Lemay Avenue Health & Rehab Facility.

Omar was born March 28, 1927 to Omar, Sr. and Ione Ellefson in Dawson, Minnesota. He has 3 sisters. On April 8, 1950 he married Priscilla Erickson. They have 4 daughters.

Omar served in World War II in the Navy Seabees. He worked for Supersweet Feed Mills in New Ulm, Minnesota and Farmland Industries in Colorado. Omar's family moved to Colorado in 1969.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Priscilla Ellefson of Fort Collins; 4 daughters, Joan Mannon (Ken), Lori Duke (Carl), Ann Kinkelaar (Rob) of Fort Collins, CO, and Cheryl Koons (Dan) of Fort Worth, TX; 3 sisters, Eloise Ronning, Elaine Himley, and Mary Ellen Brown (Leo) all of Minnesota; ten grandchildren, Mike Mannon, Dawn Morrissey, Ryan, Andrew, and Jon Koons, David, Katie, and James Duke, Jacob and Nathan Chapman; and 4 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 27th at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 1200 S. Taft Hill Road, with luncheon following, and inurnment at Roselawn Cemetery at 1:30 pm.

The family requests donations be made to the American Legion or Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.
