Paul R. Geudner

Paul R. Geudner, 91, of Windsor, CO passed away peacefully on January 15, 2023. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Marcelle (Marcy) Geudner (Creech), daughters Cindi L. Rubiano (Jess), Lyn N. Martin, (Ron), granddaughters Brandi Lyn Broadley (David), Jordan Lee Cannon (Bubba), and grandson, Mason Paul Howell, and three great grandchildren: Bianca Jordan Broadley (9), Ryker Van Robert Cannon (4), and Harlowe Rubi Cannon (1 ½). His parents and five siblings preceded him in death, as he was the youngest child of the family. Paul was born on May 12, 1931, in Omaha, Nebraska, at Immanuel Hospital, to Edmund Charles and Florence Mary (Tomlinson) Geudner. Paul spent some of his early days in St. Louis Missouri, and the remainder of his childhood in Golden, CO where he attended Catholic School. He enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17, on November 2, 1948. He served for 4 years and was honorably discharged on October 7, 1952. Paul served on the USS Valley Forge; one of the 24 Essex-class aircraft carriers built during World War II. He was a Seaman when discharged, and also served as a cook for a period of time. He loved to share funny stories of his Navy days with family and friends. Paul returned to his Golden CO home after the military and worked with his father and older brother at their family-owned Lithography business. He spent his career working for other large commercial offset printing companies; Hirshfeld Press (Denver), Leanin’ Tree (Boulder), and finally retired from Rocky Mountain Bank Note in 1986. Paul and his wife, Marcelle, met on a blind date at a bowling alley in 1959. They started dating and became a trophy winning couple in their respective leagues. They loved to dance and frequented dance halls including Trocadero Ballroom at Elitch Gardens. He loved all types of music from Dean Martin and Bing Crosby to Deep Purple and Blue Oyster Cult, and then Celine Dion and Whitney Houston in his “golden years”. Paul and Marcy were married on August 13, 1960, in Center, TX, where Marcelle was born and raised. Paul enjoyed working on cars most of his adult life. He would buy them, fix them up, and sell them for a nice profit. He liked Chevy Corvairs, Chevy Vega’s, and his 1956 Red Thunderbird. He loved boats just as much, owning over 25 during his lifetime. His favorite boat was his 1986 Sea Ray, and he taught many teenagers and adults how to waterski over the years. He also snow-skied, played pool, ice skated, took his girls sledding, golfing, and camping. He was a man of great integrity and was known for doing acts of service for many an “underdog”. He loved “trucker” hats, shopping at Thrift stores, Flea Markets, vacationing in Mexico, cruising with “Princess Cruise Line”, and eating at buffet restaurants. Paul had an infectious laugh and laughed at his own jokes making others laugh even more. He lived by a set of “FACTS”, which were based on lessons he learned throughout his lifetime, as well as his strong personal opinions. Above all else, Paul loved and cherished his family. He was a loyal husband, wonderful father, and loving grandfather, who would do anything for his loved ones. His family visited him in the hospital and remained by his side until he passed… he will truly be missed by all. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area B. The cars will be led to the location of Shelter B within the cemetery.
