Bernadean "Bernie" Ella Fuller

April 9, 2020

Bernadean Fuller (Bernie), 93, a long-time resident of Fort Collins went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 9, 2020. Born in 1927 in Kansas, she moved to Fort Collins in 1959 when her family purchased Fuller’s Bakery, which they owned and operated until 1988. Bernie worked tirelessly in decorating cakes, delivering orders, helping with production, managing the finances and employees and serving customers with caring and friendliness. Bernie was an active member of her church where she taught Sunday School for preschoolers and worked in the church daycare with infants 5 days/week (she loved young children). Bernie enjoyed playing the piano and organ, and for many years provided musical support for church services. She was a 50-year member of the local Soroptimist Club and participated annually in the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoebox project. She loved to visit her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her later years, Bernie thoroughly enjoyed family and friends, talking, laughing and playing games – she gave new dimensions to what being family really means. She prayed faithfully and regularly and was a “prayer warrior”; only eternity will reveal the impact of her prayers! Those who know her best will remember her for her infectious smile, her sweet and helpful spirit and her contagious devotion to God. Bernie was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years (Norman) and her parents. She is survived by her three sons, Douglas, Stanley, and Kenton, her twelve grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank New Mercer Commons Assisted Living Facility for their personal care and support of Bernie during her residency there this last year. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins, CO. A Celebration of Bernie’s Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, August 2, 2020 at The Crossing Church in Fort Collins. The service will also be streamed online for those who are unable to attend in person. Here is the link to the online service: https://youtu.be/MkYsmpi8me8 Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child.
