Today, Camille Leone Irvin, 94, passed quietly away at Brookdale Memory Care facility in Ft. Collins. Her death follows that of her husband of 62 years, William D. Irvin, who died in 2012. Camille and Bill were strong advocates for the Larimer County Foster Care program. During their 19-year tenure with the organization, they served as foster parents for 42 children. This was in addition to the multitude of foreign exchange students, unwed mothers, and private placements they sponsored over the years. Their home was always open to those who, as Camille said, “Only need someone to provide them with a little love and attention.” Bill and Camille moved to Ft. Collins in 1963 and were active members of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and then St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Parish. Camille was a member in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Association, the Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars, a volunteer in Poudre School’s Children And Seniors Together (CAST), and a member of the Slightly Older Adult Players (SOAP) Troupe, an acting company where she played a variety of rolls both on, and behind, the stage. Camille is survived by her four adopted sons, Leon (and wife, Lydia), Michael (and wife, Karla), Martin (and wife, Karen) and Tony; nine grandchildren, Victoria, Christel (and husband, Christopher), Jason, Jillian, Whitney (and husband, Sean), Tony Jr., Erik, Christine (and husband, Alex) and Matthew; and seven great-grandchildren (Nicholas, Logan, Reilla, Zander, Brayden, Khia, and Maverik). Visitation will be from 3:00 until 5:00 pm Friday, December 20, 2019, with recitation of the Rosary at 4:00 pm at Goes Funeral Care in Fort Collins. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 am Saturday, December 21, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Collins. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
