Doneta "Dee" Warwick
November 6, 1956 - September 21, 2021
Doneta “Dee” Warwick, 64, of Fort Collins, CO, passed away September 21, 2021. Dee was born to James and Donna (Likely) Brown in Wichita, KS, and raised in Haysville, KS. Dee’s first job was a groundskeeper for the Wichita Airport. She was then a teacher’s assistant at Bauder elementary. That is when she and Bryan Warwick (with the help of their matchmaking daughters), met and started dating. They were married on June 9, 1999, in Las Vegas, NV. Bryan was wonderful to her and dedicated every day to loving her. Dee went on to be a large-scale cook for Colorado State University, Columbine Health, Good Samaritan Society, and the Larimer County Jail. Dee enjoyed quilting, gardening, and grilling in all seasons. She also enjoyed road trips – especially to visit her family and grandchildren. Dee was known to be incredibly outgoing with a wonderful sense of humor. She was known amongst many as “Momma Dee.” She was always looking to care for others and was sure to make every holiday special (and invite anyone who needed a family). Dee is survived by her husband, Bryan, of Fort Collins, CO, daughters Janelle Decker of West Virginia and Jenny Decker of Loveland, CO, son Bryan (Krissy) Schmidt of Wichita, KS, stepdaughter Brittany Warwick of North Carolina, and 13 grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Joyce Cavalieri, of Nebraska, and brothers Robert (Sharon) Brown of Texas and Kenny Brown of Kansas. A Celebration of life was held Sunday, September 26, 2021. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org/donate.
