Gail Louise Baker, 63, of Fort Collins, CO passed away peacefully at her home on February 27th, 2020. Gail underwent treatment for stage 4 metastatic breast cancer for 5 ½ years until the disease overtook her. She was a real fighter with a remarkably positive attitude toward her battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, David L. Baker and her son, Andrew Baker; her brothers Wayne Critchfield, Kenneth Critchfield, and David Critchfield; and her sister Donna Dayhoff. She was predeceased by her Father, Ivan “Kenny” Critchfield and her Mother, Rebecca Critchfield. Gail was kind, loving, easy-going, good-natured, strong-willed, selfless, creative, generous, honest, and beautiful. She was a wonderful wife, devoted mother, and very inspirational to all who met her. Gail loved her family unit, life, music, art, and nature. She was an avid reader and a very creative and talented fabric artist who had a signature style to her art that always embraced very tastefully colored and richly textured materials. Her favorite genre to create was American folk art and detailed quilts, as well as intricate cards and paper pieces. She was a master at her crafts. Gail worked as an inventory control and cost accounting specialist and as a customer service representative in the environmental instrumentation industry for many years. She also served as Vice-President and Secretary for a micro-brewery/brewpub that she and her husband created, owned, and operated in the mid-1990’s. She was a perfectionist at her work and was well-respected by all whom she had the pleasure to work with. Gail’s last wish was to be in the company of her husband and son, in her home, at the time of her passing. That wish came true as she passed with peace, dignity, grace, and comfort. Instead of a funeral, she wished to be cremated and to have a portion of her remains scattered in specific locations that were near and dear to her heart. She also requested that a celebration of her life be held sometime in the future for all her friends and family. Details of the event will be forthcoming.
