James "Jim" Glass, age 74 of Fort Collins, CO died at his mountain-top home on July 11, 2021. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 9:00 am, Monday, July 19th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ft. Collins, followed by a Memorial Mass at 9:30 am. A reception will be held following the mass. James William Glass was born in Fargo, ND to Elwin Curtis and Helen Lorraine Glass. During his lifetime, Jim lived in many places throughout the US and the world including Venezuela and Turkey. He received his PhD at the University of Arizona in Tucson, which is also where he met Sharon, his wife of 52 years. He was a Chemical Engineer who worked for Shell Oil, Shell Chemical, Phillips Petroleum, and before he retired owned and operated his own engineering consulting firm, Qestek. He retired in the late 1990's to enjoy his mountain home west of Fort Collins. Jim served as a Eucharistic Minister for 10 years at John XXIII parish and has been a parishioner of St. Joseph Parish for the past 20 years. He was a loving husband and father, and spent every moment possible with his grandson Grayson. He was a soccer coach, Boy Scout leader, and participated in the Eagle Scout program and the Order of the Arrow with his son, Scott. Jim is survived by his wife, Sharon; his son and family, Scott, Evangeline and Grayson Of Bryan, TX; his two brothers, Jerome (and Jane) Glass of Tucson and Kevin (and Carolyn) Glass of San Antonio, TX; his brother-in-law, Thomas (and Janelle) Hetler of Jasper, TX and his sister-in-law, Marilyn Glass of Salem, OR. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Glass. His family requests that any donations please be made to Catholic Charities.
