John Milton Burns of Ft. Collins passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at his home. He was born July 27th, 1936 in Walden to his parents John C. and Mabel S. Burns. John grew up in Walden and LaPorte and attended LaPorte High School. John was a true outdoors man and had a passion for nature and animals. His strong work ethic served him well throughout life in managing Silver Star Alpacas in Northern Colorado. Through the years, John served in management positions with Everitt Lumber, Union Manufacturing and owned a rubber stamp and engraving business. John was extremely proud of the 18 years he spent serving at CSU as a Nurseryman. John was preceded in death by a daughter MaryAnn, and his brothers King, Don and Lowell, and sister Ruth. He is survived by Shirley Jean Burns, his wife of 54 years; children John (Kathy), Tammy (Kirk) sister Bonnie. Grandchildren Danny (Jen), Brianne (Daniel), Taylor (Chad), and Great grandchildren Nickolas, Kaylee, Cole and Eli. A “Celebration of Life” Open House will be held Tuesday, December 20th, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at 2631 W. Vine Dr., Fort Collins, CO.
