Marcella R. Lemos

Our Beloved Mom and Grandma, Marcella R. Lemos, (“Mom, Grandma , Mami, Tia Marcy, Cella, Sis, Cousin and friend”) , went to Heaven on Thursday, February 24, 2022 to be with God, her Mother, her Father and some of her siblings. She was 77 years old. Marcella was born on June 2, 1944 in Fort Collins, CO, to Mary V. Lemos and Ray G. Lemos, Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Lemos Escobar, her son Ray Lemos (Alyssa), her grandchildren, Jolisa Escobar, Marcos Escobar, Arianna Lemos and Joshua Lemos. She is also survived by three sisters, Eleanor Jimenez (Tony), Elena P. Spiotta, Lupe Lemos-Sigward (Gerald). In addition, she is survived by three brothers, Ray Lemos Jr. (Janet), Victoriano Lemos, and George Lemos Sr., as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary V. Lemos and Ray G. Lemos Sr., brother Joe Lemos, sister Mary Ruybal, brother Paul Lemos and infant brother, Ray. In her early years – Marcella worked at Ace Gillett’s, Paramount Laundry and Cleaners and Larimer County. Mom (Grandma) was a wonderful homemaker and assisted in raising her four grandchildren. She was the biggest softball, basketball, football, and golf fan for her grandchildren. She had her own unique cheer that she would always chant in support of them. In addition, she would also attend all of her grandchildren’s concerts, performances and other school events. Mom (Grandma) loved having weekly lunches on Tuesdays with her family and also going out for ice cream with them. She enjoyed gathering with her children and grandchildren during the holidays, which she often hosted at her home. She also loved playing Bingo with her family and friends. In addition, she enjoyed attending local concerts and events in Old Town Fort Collins, especially with her family. Mom (Grandma) was a compassionate, caring and loving person that would help anyone. She always volunteered to be the family taxi when a family member needed a ride. Mom loved helping her family. She volunteered each week at Holy Family Church and was also a volunteer for Volunteers of America. A Catholic Rosary will be held at Holy Family Church, 326 N Whitcomb, Fort Collins, CO, 80521 on Thursday, 3/10/22 at 9:30 am, a Catholic Mass will follow right after the Rosary. This will also be live-streamed for those that are unable to attend: https://www.facebook.com/Holy-Family-Church-104225301243613 Since we are in a midst of a Pandemic, social distancing and safety protocols will be practiced at this service.
