When asked to write the story of our mom’s life … It has to begin like this, our mom was amazing! She was most definitely the glue that held our family together. She was kind, thoughtful, loving, you know all of the great qualities that someone would want to be remembered by during their walk here on earth. Mom was born October 31st, 1933 to Mark and Edna Davis. She was raised in rural Hopkins, Missouri. She was the oldest daughter of 6 siblings: Donnis, Doris, Kathy, Phil and Linda. Although life had it’s challenges being farmers, always relying on crops for food and relying on each other for survival, it only made them more capable! Grandma Davis was a woman of strong faith, she too held her family together. This beautiful Christian lady raised her family to be powerful, to endure … to always be able to fight the fight, accept adversity and in the end to do what is right and good. In our minds eye, we see our mom having a childhood filled with shenanigans (with two brothers, that’s going to happen), tree climbing, church going, laughter, hardships but most importantly a house filled with love. Mom graduated from Hopkins High School in 1951, she then married our dad Glenn Parker. Our family moved to Colorado where they made their life. We grew up knowing the same morals and values that mom did. She instilled in us to be good, generous and be someone to turn to in a time of need. Mom was always our #1 Fan. Life was great and the adventure was extraordinary. She loved so many things it is hard to list them all … She loved the mountains, camping, traveling and most precious to her has always been her family. She would drop everything to be a part of anything that our families had going on! During our lifetime there have been struggles, difficult times … but nothing would compare to the immense pain of losing our sister Sherry at the age of 27. She was a beautiful soul gone entirely too soon. We find comfort in knowing that mom will be laid to rest with her baby girl. They will be reunited and live together forever in Paradise. Our mom’s second husband Virgil Keiswetter joined our family in 1988. He brought into our lives his son Kim and his daughter Cindy. Mom and Virgil had a lifetime full of adventures and lived happily for many years. Our mom was so very proud of each and every one of her grandchildren: Kristy, Stacey, Amanda, Shelley, Tyler, Taryn, Tori, Amanda and Matt. She rarely missed an event when her grandchildren were involved. We would always feel her love and support and know deep down she was “Beaming” because one of hers was out on the field, in the arena, in the pool … anywhere! Grandma was there cheering them on. Her great grandchildren count is 15 and that is true testimony to how wonderful her life has been … Dominic, Devin, Lynn, Jaden, Annie, Rylan, Austyn, Mason, Anthony, Karter, Piper, Tucker, Aiden, Kenzie and Nora. You could see her eyes light up whenever she would see any of them coming her way. She was a fighter all the way to end … or the beginning as some would say. Until we meet again mom … dear sweet angel of God. We know you are in His mighty ever-loving arms. A very popular song by Mercy Me says it best, this speaks strongly to our hearts … “I can only imagine, what it will be like, when I walk by your side” Mildred “Millie” Keiswetter, 87 of Fort Collins died September 7, 2021. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm Sunday, September 12 at Christ United Methodist Church, 301 East Drake Road, Fort Collins. Interment will be held privately at Roselawn Cemetery. Millie was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Trippel, and her husband Virgil Keiswetter. She is survived by two sons, Ed (and Carri) Parker of Fort Collins and Richard (and Sheri) Parker of Cheyenne; stepdaughter, Cindy (and Tom) Spencer of Windsor and step-son, Kim (and Rhonda) Keiswetter of Ft. Collins; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
