Richard Daniel Hoff
January 1, 2018
Richard Daniel Hoff, 71, of Greeley, died January 1, 2018. Richard was born in 1946, here in Colorado to parents Daniel and Hilma Hoff. Aside from his time in Virginia and Nevada during his military service, he was a lifetime Colorado resident. Richard graduated from Greeley High School in 1964, and he and his wife Sharon were married in Greeley in 1966. After his service in the Navy from 1966 to 1969, Richard and Sharon settled back in Colorado, where they raised their four daughters together. Richard spent 33 years working for Hewlett Packard and 6 years with the Platte Valley School District, before retiring, but his work didn’t stop there. Richard was an active volunteer, both during his career and after. He was part of the local Lion’s Club and held many leadership positions at Trinity Lutheran Church in Greeley and Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fort Collins. He put his skills to good use, doing woodworking and building for family, friends and service projects. True to his roots, he also enjoyed camping and hiking in the lovely Colorado mountains. Richard is survived by his wife Sharon Hoff; daughters, Dana Hoff, Jodeen Anderson (DJ); Hilary Hoff (Bob Alexander), and Alexa Hepler (Mike); sister, Diana Fest (Charlie); brother, Ronald Hoff (Loretta); and five grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 11 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Greeley. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in honor of Richard to The Alzheimer’s Association or Pathways Hospice.
