Richard Marvin Novak, 64 of Fort Collins passed away Thursday, September 1 after a 3-month battle with cancer. He was born April 8, 1952 in Pueblo, CO to John M. Novak III and Mary Gertrude Marvin Novak. His growing up years were spent in Boulder, CO where he graduated from Fairview High School in 1970. He then attended Colorado State University. Richard married Carla Williams on August 17, 1984 in Conroe, TX. Their daughter Ashley (James D. Sutton) resides in Denver. He was a kind, generous man who never failed to lend a hand when one was needed. He was known for his sense of humor and quick wit. He was the pillar of his family. Richard has left a positive impression on all who knew him, and will be greatly missed. Surviving Richard are his wife Carla, and daughter Ashley Sutton. Siblings include Nancy Novak (James) Choun of Fort Collins and Steven Novak of Los Gatos, CA. Richard was very special to his nieces and nephews and their families – Kristen Pryce (Greg) Pappas and family of Steamboat Springs, CO, Kirk Pryce (Mindi Dancliff Pryce) and family of Wellington, CO, Matt (Kate) Williams, Amy West, Cody (Sara) Williams, and brother and sister in law Mike and Janet Williams – all of Texas. A number of other relatives survive him as well. At Richard’s request, a private family celebration of his life will take place.
