Robert Wayne Dearing, age 73, of Fort Collins died October 31st at the home he loved so much near Horsetooth Reservoir. Bob previously lived in Alamosa, Colorado Springs, and Greeley. Born in 1945 in Alexandria, Louisiana to Starless and Marjorie Dearing, he graduated from CSU in 1967 with a degree in History. Bob then entered the Army, serving two tours in Viet Nam. Upon discharge from the Army, Bob attended graduate school for psychology at Adams State College. He was a counselor and dorm supervisor at the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind in Colorado Springs; then from ’73 to ’80 he worked as a Social Worker for Weld County in Greeley. Bob completed his career life employed for 27 years with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 2007. On March 29, 1980, Bob married Corinne Grim in Fort Collins. In 2012, after 32 years of marriage, Corinne died following a 5-year battle with Cancer. Bob’s notes confirm his proudest and luckiest thoughts about his life to be tied to her. Bob was a member of the DAV, the 75th Ranger Regiment Assn., 101st Airborne Div., Assn. Bob is survived by his sister, Kathy Jaquez of San Luis, CO; brother, Steve Dearing of Colorado Springs; a niece, Naaja King of Brooklyn, NY; and nephews, Carlos and David Jaquez, both of Aurora, CO. In addition to his parents and Corinne, Bob is pre-deceased by his younger sister, Nancy. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 10 at Grandview Cemetery.
