Tom Miller, 64, of Ft. Collins, Colorado passed away on Wednesday December 20, 2017 at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado. He was born in Iowa during a University of Iowa football game. At his birth the nurses pronounced his mother had scored a “touchdown”. He carried this nickname the rest of his life. Tom’s family lived in Kinross, Iowa while he was growing up then moved to Espanola, New Mexico in 1971. He returned to Iowa in the early 70’s to work for a few years, then journeyed back to New Mexico where he was a contractor for many years in Angel Fire. He married Cindy Nickell on July 7, 2001. They have two daughters Julia and Hazel both at home. The family moved to Ft. Collins, Colorado in 2007, where Tom was a self-employed contractor. Tom is survived by his wife Cindy, daughters Julia and Hazel, son Loren and wife, Eva, and three granddaughters Serena, Ginger, and Elizabeth. His brothers: Steve Miller and wife, Ginny, Tim Miller and wife, Hannah, Ed Miller, and five nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Mary Miller, sister Michelle Mae Miller, nephew Curtis Miller, and his mother-in-law Janet Fegan. Tom never met a stranger. He will always be remembered for his bright smile and infectious laugh. He will be deeply missed by his family, many friends, and his five faithful dogs. A celebration of life is planned for December 29, 2017 from 2:00 pm-5:00 pm in the Big Red Barn at Highland Meadows Golf Course, 6300 Highland Meadows Parkway, Windsor, CO.
