Adrien Larrarte, 30 of Fort Collins, Colorado, entered fully into the presence of the Lord on September 8, 2008 at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora after suffering a recent ruptured brain aneurysm. Adrien was born June 15, 1978 in Dallas, Texas. He was an old soul; a Southerner by blood, and was proud of it. When he was two years old, Adrien's family moved to Colorado and to Fort Collins when he was 14. Adrien grew up with a passion for books. He attended Fort Collins High School where he spent his time in the library, always learning. Through books, he taught himself many things. Adrien had a voracious appetite for the Church, history and politics. He was a multi faceted man, but Adrien's greatest passion has always been the Church and books. He brought many (back) to Christ along his way and he volunteered with the prison ministry. His lifelong dream was to teach theology. Adrien was a committed follower of Christ; was a great daddy; and was a dedicated and loving son. He was a family man and homebody. He admired all things Celtic and Basque and was learning to paint iconography. He is survived by his daughter Ashlynn and son Brendan; his parents, Sondra (and Gary) Hains of Fort Collins and German (and Bettina) Larrarte of Spain and Germany; his sister, Renée (and Austin) Larrarte of Ft. Collins; his ex-wife, Darci Larrarte of Ft. Collins; his girlfriend, Rochelle Evitt of Carr, CO; and his half brother, German Larrarte, Jr. of El Mirage, AZ. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at St. James Orthodox Church, 2610 S. E. Frontage Road, Ft. Collins. The viewing concludes with the Trisagion Prayers of Mercy. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM Friday at St. James Church followed by the interment at Grandview Cemetery.
