Albert J. Helburg

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our parents, Patsey Ruth, 1-30-2014 and Albert James Helburg, 7-9-2026. 

Patsey Ruth Helburg, 88, was born 7-12-1925 in Grand Junction, Colorado to Lee and Alene Shaft. She was raised in Colorado. Patsey and Al were married in 1945 in Marysville, California. After moving to Fort Collins Patsey worked as a telephone operator and office worker until 1984 when she retired after 30 years with Mountain Bell telephone company. 

Albert James Helburg, 98, was born 7-11-1927 in Loveland, Colorado to Lawrence and Artie Helburg who farmed east of Loveland and later east of Boulder. After serving 2 1/2 years in the military during World War Two, Al and Patsey married in 1945 and lived in Arizona for 8 years and returned to Colorado in 1955. Al was employed at CSU where he worked until retirement in 1986. They moved to Montana in 1993 and lived there until October 2013. They went to Arizona for the winter where Patsey passed on. 

Al and Patsey had many great memories of camping, fishing and of course their many good friends. 

Al and Patsey are survived by sons Michael (Kris) of Libby, Montana, Steve (Sheryl) of Fort Collins and daughter Janeen Mieir of Fort Collins, six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one great granddaughter.
