He was an extraordinary young man whose exuberance and enthusiasm drew people close to him. Alex was born December 31, 1989 in Denver to Charles Jerome L'Heureux and Karen Ann Campbell L'Heureux. He grew up in Colorado with his older brother Nicholas. Alex loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing, mountain biking, and great big dogs. He was passionate about learning languages and cooking. His death is a tremendous loss felt by a large family and great number of good friends who were classmates, colleagues and mentors. The L'Heureux family moved to California in 2004 where Alex graduated with honors from Rancho Bernardo High School in 2008. His summers were spent working with the staff at Midland Animal Hospital and Rancho Bernardo Veterinary Hospital. He loved the animals and the extraordinary opportunity to learn; bringing home many great stories to his family. After accepting admission to CSU, Alex immediately became involved with the Pre-Vet Club, assuming the responsibilities of Activities Coordinator this year. As a freshman, he volunteered at the Ft. Collins Raptor Center. Alex is survived by his parents, Chuck and Karen L'Heureux of San Diego; his brother, Nicholas of San Luis Obispo; his grandparents, Donald and JoAnn Campbell of Wray and Joe and Lou L'Heureux of Fort Morgan, and a large number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
