Alice Roley, 91, of Fort Collins Colorado, died peacefully at home on January 26, 2024. A Recitation of the Rosary will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Collins. Interment will follow immediately at Grandview Cemetery with a reception held afterwards at Meredith Hall, Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Alice Louise Roley was the youngest of five children, born January 6, 1933, in Denver, Colorado to Mike and Rose McDonough. She grew up in Denver on South Downing Street. Alice had her first date with Bill on April 24, 1948, at the Regis Prom. They were married on August 2, 1952, at St. Francis De Sales Church. They moved to Fort Collins in 1964 and established their first Card and Gift Store, followed by Roley's Book Shoppe in 1967.
Alice is survived by her husband of 71 years, Bill; their five children, Dennis Roley, Mary Roley (Todd Kelly, deceased), Carol Roley-Buchanan (Kris), Nancy Roley-Cooper (Scott), and Marc Roley (Jennifer) as well as their seven grandchildren, Wil, Kate, Matt (Brianna) Buchanan; Ellen, Mitch Cooper; Michael, Alicyn Roley. Sister-in-law, Carolyn Roley, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her four siblings, Michael McDonough, Catherine Hazlitt, Rosemary Bugas, and Therese Chubb.
Alice cherished her Catholic faith, adored her family and had a passion for cooking.
