Alice K. Unger, age 84 of Ft. Collins died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at her home; we are comforted knowing she is reunited with the love of her life, her husband Don, who died nearly 7 years ago. Alice Katherine Behling was born July 29, 1927 in Castle Dale, Utah to Herman and Hedvig Behling. On August 17, 1945, she married Don Unger, while he was stationed in Santa Monica, California serving in the Air Force. They lived in many places all over the world during Don's Air Force career and moved to Fort Collins in 1960 after he retired. She made many great friends over the years; enjoyed traveling and gardening and flowers. Alice loved to live life to the fullest, sharing her time and home with her family and friends every chance she got. Alice is survived by her daughter Katherine (and Bob) Tinney of Cheyenne, WY; three grandchildren, Christopher (and Melinda) Tinney of Glendale, AZ, Daniel (and Amy) Tinney and Emilee "Suzy" Tinney all of Cheyenne; 11 great-grandchildren, Brianna, Celeste, Riley, Summer, Marc, Sean, Chaisley, Eryn, Zack, Isaiah and Mariah; and a brother, Rex (and Thora) Behling. She was preceded in death by a son Donald "Bruce" Unger; and siblings, Henry Behling, Albert Behling, Clair Behling, Vera Baxter and Leah Lindsey. A celebration of Alice's life and open house will be held from 12:00 to 5:00 Saturday at her home, 2814 Clydesdale Ct., Ft. Collins. Her family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations please be made to the Lower Poudre Canyon Volunteer Fire Department.
