Allen LeRoy Rein, 91, of Johnstown, Colorado died on
September 3, 2017 in Loveland, Colorado.
Allen was born on December 26, 1925 in Bazine, Kansas to George and Olinda (Nuss)
Rein.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a dispersing storekeeper in Quam and Saipan. He was very proud of his country and honored to serve it with pride.
After the war, he met his true love, Lovara Shumway, in a small café in Hutchinson, Kansas. They were married on Mother's Day, May 11, 1947. They celebrated their 70th anniversary this year.
Allen worked for 38 years for the Gore Oil Company. At his retirement, he was the Field Operation Manager in McCook, Neb. He also co-owned the A & B Oil Incorporation.
He and Lovara loved to travel, and they spent much of their golden years as Texas "Snow Birds." He was a firm believer in family values as well as his love for his country and God.
He is survived by his wife, Lovara; children: Donald Rein and wife Kathy of Morrison, Colorado; Beverly Evans and husband Jeff of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Kenneth Rein and wife April of Lawrence, Kansas; and Marilyn Sorden and husband Mike of Johnstown, Colorado. He also has six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and sister Talia (Rein) Karst.
