Alma Jorgenson, age 90, of Fort Collins passed away peacefully on July 13, 2014 at MacKenzie Place in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Alma was born on July 18, 1923 on a farm near Bellingham, a farming community in Western Minnesota. Her parents were William and Sophie Buck. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church; a country church. Her confirmation verse was Revelations 2:10 "Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life."
After graduating from high school she married Howard Sorteberg and was blessed with two sons, Wayne and Jeff. Howard was killed in an automobile accident. She married Jerry Jorgenson on June 14, 1953 and was blessed again with a daughter, Nancy Behm. In reading a note she left behind, she said she really regretted not going to college since she enjoyed school so much.
Alma was a wonderful homemaker. She loved to cook, bake, and embroider dish towels. She supported Jerry in every way, when he went to appointments with AAL she would lay out his clothes and always packed his lunch. She enjoyed playing cards, music and dancing.
She danced with Lawrence Welk in 1959. She always said she, "Never wanted to wash her hands after that dance!"
Alma was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She loved her church and was involved in many areas of church work, participating in choir, LWML, Sarah Circle and Bible studies. She loved her family and friends.
Due to declining health, Jerry and Alma moved to Fort Collins, CO in January 2010, where they resided at MacKenzie Place. They attended Saint John's Lutheran Church. They really enjoyed the many pastoral visits from Pastor(s) Bestian, Nickel, Van den Bloemen and Netttleton. Alma had the complete Lutheran Catechism memorized and still remembered it even with Alzheimers. Her faith was an inspiration to everyone around her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, her parents, four sisters, one brother and a host of friends. Alma is survived by her two sons, Wayne Jorgenson of Paynesville, MN; Jeff Jorgenson of Palestine, TX and daughter Nancy (Jorgenson) Behm of Fort Collins, CO. She has six grandchildren including, Robert Jorgenson and Suzanne Jorgenson of AZ; Jeff (Buck) Jorgenson and Jason Jorgenson both of Loveland, CO; Ryan Behm of Windsor, CO and Scott Behm of Fort Collins, CO. She has eight great-grandchildren.
The family wants to thank the many loving caregivers at MacKenzie and Front Range Hospice through her final earthly journey to her eternal life in Heaven.
