Ann Baranowski Caffrey, of Fort Collins, died peacefully in her home surrounded by family on the morning of Tuesday, June 1st, due to complications stemming from endometrial cancer. She was 83.
Born and raised in Ohio and West Virginia as the only child of Ross and Mary Leo, she moved to California at a young age. She married Edwin John Baranowski in Torrance, CA, in 1960 and with him raised three children primarily in Thousand Oaks, CA. Widowed at a young age, she focused on providing for her children and a multi-faceted professional career until her subsequent marriage to the late Edmund J. Caffrey, with whom she moved to Colorado in 1994.
A kind, caring woman and devoted friend to all that knew her, she is survived by her three children: Mary Currie of Fort Collins, John Baranowski of San Diego, CA, and Edward Baranowski of Winters, CA; their spouses; three grandchildren and her uncle Frank Scarfo of Torrance, CA.
A memorial service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fort Collins on Thursday, June 17th, at 3pm, and will be followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, friends may send donations to the church in her name. The family is eternally grateful for the help received from countless people for her medical care these last few years.
