Anna Lucille Comstock

Anna Lucille Comstock… Her story, as told her beloved daughter, Cheryl Brown.

"Lucille, 89, was born in Calhoun, Kentucky. She had a sister, Mary that was 5 years older. They grew up during the Depression. So, both of her parents worked and she had to share a bike with her sister and only had one doll; a Shirley Temple doll that I named Anna when I used to play with her at my grandma's house. She will be on the Memory Table at the Memorial Service, if you want to see her."

"Lucille was a homemaker when I was growing up. She was always a big part of my life. She was at home taking care of the house and us. I can remember coming home from school and talking to her about my day. She also, was a private 'taxi driver,' taking us swimming at the Fort Collins City Park, movies and whatever we were involved in. When I was little, we would eat dinner in front of the TV, watching Lawrence Welk and she would dance with me."

"When I was in college, she went to work as a teacher's aid for Poudre High School; she really liked working there and had so many really good life-long friends. I remember that I wished should have been employed there, when I was in high-school, as I felt that she understood more about what kids were going through."

"She helped me through the good and hard times and she was always willing to listen and help. We knew her as the family picture taker and she loved looking at pictures. I would come over and show her pictures on my phone, of her great-grand kids and she would say, "Oh, I want a copy of that."

"I have so many great memories; it's hard to pick a few to write down. But, she loved the Lord and was always involved with her church. However, it had become harder for her to attend, because she broke her hip and couldn't get to church as easily. Now, she is in Heaven, dancing and running and her body doesn't hurt anymore."

"I will miss her and I will always be thankful for the mom that I was blessed to have." I love you!"
