Arlene Henthorn

Nov 2, 1936 — Jun 9, 2008

Arlene 'Lee' Henthorn, 71 of Fort Collins, died June 9th at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. Cremation is planned and a celebration of her life will begin at 11:00 AM Sunday at Frank and Arlene's home, 1020 East Vine Dr., Ft. Collins. "You are the love of my life. I love you with all of my heart and I will see you in heaven. You're the most beautiful girl in the world". ~ Frank Henthorn Arlene Ann Lewandowski was born November 2, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Sophia Lewandowski. She grew up in Chicago and lived formerly in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, where she married Frank on July 21, 1956. They lived in Kenosha before to moving to the Ft. Collins area in 1970. Arlene and Frank co-owned Frank's Sheet Metal for over 37 years in Ft. Collins. It was a true family business as each of their children participated in the business at one time or another. Arlene was a former archer and a lousy bowler. She proved it when she won a trophy for being the most comical bowler in the league. Arlene loved angels and clowns; music and dancing; gardening and gambling on slot machines; and she loved her husband's cat, only because she loved her husband. She was a Scorpio; a rebel soul; independent; strong willed; the glue that held the family together. She was protective of her children often saying "You can mess with me but don't mess with my kids."; family was absolutly everything to her. She is survived by Frank, her husband of almost 52 years; their five children Cindi (and Doug) Sterkel of Wellington, Frank Henthorn, II of Ft. Collins, Sandi Henthorn (and Di Nowak) of Lakewood, Washington, Joe Henthorn of Wellington and Ramona Nikole Devost (and Justin Boyd) of Ft. Collins; five sisters, Dorothy Napiwocki, Lorraine Great, LaVerne Petersen, Mildred Olszewski and Elaine Zalewski; nine grandchildren, Dee, Julia (and David), Daniel (and Alishia), Michael (and Christine), Nathan, Lacy (and Toby), Brandon (and Jami), Alex and Madison; and four great-grandchildren, Dale (and Maureen), Missy, Rob, D.J. and Daryan. Arlene was preceded in death by her two brothers, Leonard and Clifford Lewandowski.
