Arlene L. Peters passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025 following a short illness.
Arlene was born to the late Ernst F. and Hazel H. Boettcher in York, Pennsylvania, on February 14, 1936, which likely was the reason her favorite color was red. She married the late Harry R. Peters in 1955. She will be missed by children Jean Peters of Gilbert Arizona, Sandy Peters (Bernie Haberle) of Conifer, Colorado, Linda Chapman (Steve) of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Stan Peters of Castle Rock, Colorado; grandchildren Matthew Peters of Boulder, Colorado, Christopher Peters of Dallas, Texas and Samantha Peters of Vienna, Virginia; her sister Lois Stambaugh (David) of Wellsville, Pennsylvania as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother Mahlon E. Boettcher.
Arlene described herself as a 'farm girl', enjoying the wide-open spaces and only spent about a decade as a 'city girl' in Scottsdale, Arizona. She enjoyed antiquing and collecting treasures as well as maintaining lifelong friendships through letters and cards. She never met a plant she didn't like, and few plants did not like her.
Arlene and Harry were members of Saint John's Lutheran Church in Fort Collins, Colorado since June 2000.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Foundation c/o St. John's Lutheran Church, 305 E. Elizabeth St, Fort Collins, CO 80524 or a favorite charity.
