Arthur Kellett

Arthur M. Kellett, age 82 of Fort Collins, Colorado, died March 9, 2009 at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. Cremation is planned and a private family service will be held. Arthur Melville Kellett was born December 26, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY to Alfred and Augusta Kellett. In the 8th grade, Art and his family moved to Nassau County on Long Island. When he was 17 years old, and with his mother's reluctant approval, he enlisted into the U. S. Navy where he served in the Pacific Theater of operations and fought in the battle of Okinawa. Following the war, Art met Irene Castle and they were married May 15, 1948 in New Hyde Park, L. I. After a long career with the Seaford NY School District, he retired as the supervisor of operations in 1968. Art is survived by his wife, Irene; his son and his family, Don, Kimberly and Tyler Kellett of Littleton, CO; and his sister-in-law, Mildred Martin of Folsom, CA. He was preceded in death by his brother, Alfred. The family requests that any memorial donations please be made to a charity of your choice.
