Barbara Jeanette Apfel-Fuller

Fort Collins, Colorado resident, Barbara Apfel-Fuller, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Pathways Hospice in Fort Collins. She was 85 years of age.

Barbara Jeanette Apfel was born August 24, 1938 in Norfolk, Nebraska, the daughter of Kenneth Keith and Deloris Bethene (Reeves) Apfel.

She grew up on a farm, in the sand hills of Nebraska, near Norfolk, and treasured the many memories made while living there. She was 13 when her family moved to Norfolk. She graduated from Freemont High School with the class of 1957. After graduation she went to trade school to become a bookkeeper. She then met Duane Kruse from Herman Nebraska after a few years of farming the two moved to Loveland Colorado and had a son David A.

Barbara was a bookkeeper for various businesses throughout her career, and eventually retired from Eastman Kodak in Windsor Colorado.

Barbara was an animal enthusiast, especially her own service dog due to her failed hearing. In her earlier years she was very active, enjoying playing tennis and hiking.

Preceding Barbara in death are her parents, and her husband Duane Kruse. Owen Fuller.
Surviving family members include her son David A. Kruse and his wife Louise of Fort Collins, her sister Connie Gamble of Winterville, NC, and very special friends Jan Dretonsky and Natalie Mirabile.

She is also survived by 3 nephews Craig Moore, Wade Moore, and Michael Gamble. Also, many cousins in Norfolk both Apfel and Reeves.
