Barbara Lee Grigsby

Jul 24, 1951 — Apr 17, 2026

Barbara Lee Grigsby, born July 24, 1951, in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on April 17, 2026, surrounded by love after a life defined by warmth, connection, and unwavering devotion to her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and partner in life and adventure, Lawrence Grigsby. She is survived by her two daughters, Patti (Nathan) Lorenz and Beth Jauquet; grandchildren Claire and Eleanor Lorenz; and siblings Rene Iacobucci, Thomas (Gayle) Ames, Patrick (Pam) Ames, and Rory (Jennifer) Callaghan.

Barb and Larry raised their family in Wickliffe, Ohio. Barb never missed a moment that mattered to her daughters, showing up for everything from school sports to horse shows, always cheering them on with pride and enthusiasm. Her support was constant, and her love was unconditional.

She spent most of her professional career at Cleveland State University, where she developed a reputation as one of the friendliest and most social people you could ever meet. She made others feel instantly welcome and valued, and she had a gift for forming lasting friendships wherever she went.

Later in life, Barb's joy expanded even further with the arrival of her granddaughters, who brought her immense pride and happiness. She cherished every moment with them, creating special memories and continuing the same encouragement and unconditional love she had always given so freely.

Barb loved adventure—whether camping under the stars, whitewater rafting, or traveling to ski the Swiss Alps. She especially loved visiting the West and taking in the beauty of the mountains, often pausing to say, "Oh my," at the breathtaking views. Those trips created lasting family memories and ultimately inspired her daughters to attend Colorado State University. Barb and Larry later made Fort Collins, Colorado, their home to be closer to family and fully embrace the mountain lifestyle they loved so deeply.

All who knew Barb are invited to join family and friends in celebrating her life at the Pine Ridge Country Club in Wickliffe on Sunday, May 24th, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
