Barbara Catherine Trenholm (née McMillan), loving mother and wife, died peacefully at home in Fort Collins, Colorado, April 22, 2012, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was 68. Born February 26, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Arthur and Connie McMillan, Barbara attended Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska, and earned a teaching degree. It was there that she met the love of her life, Francis Trenholm. They were married August 10, 1968, and resided in Douglas, Wyoming, and Gillette, Wyoming. She had three children: Jerry, Jim, and Jacque. When not working as a homemaker, she taught school and later sold real estate. Barbara was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Fort Collins, Colorado. She loved to cook and was a skilled interior decorator. Devoted to her husband and children, she took great pride in her home. Barbara was fortunate to have a large set of friends and neighbors whom she loved very much. During her illness, countless people sent gifts and cards, and called to offer support and prayers. The family wishes to thank everyone who gave Barbara support. Barbara is survived by her husband, Francis, and her son Jerry Trenholm of Chicago, Illinois; her son James Trenholm of Denver, Colorado; and her daughter Jacque Poertner and Jacque's husband Mark Poertner of Bozeman/Big Sky, Montana. In addition, she leaves behind her beloved brothers Jim McMillan of Denver, Colorado, and Bob McMillan of Phoenix, Arizona. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Bill McMillan. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm, Thursday, April 26th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am, Friday, April 27th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Interment at Grandview Cemetery.
