Barbara A. Zang, age 88 of Fort Collins, CO, died October 31, 2014. Visitation will be held at 10:30am, with funeral services beginning at 11:30am, on Friday, November 7, 2014, at Kreamer Funeral Home, 618 E. Main St., Annville, PA. Interment will be held at 1:30pm on Friday, November 7th at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA.
Barbara Annette Saint was born January 26, 1926, in Columbus, GA to James Mart Saint and Willie Erma Booth. During WWII, she met her husband, Joseph Anthony Zang at a USO dance in Ft. Benning, GA. Joe was attending Officer Candidate School with the US Army at the time and they married soon after they met. They moved to Altoona, PA and also lived in Baltimore, MD for many years, where they raised their family. They retired for a few years in Mesa, AZ prior to moving to Fort Collins in 2008. Joe died in October of 2012.
In addition to being a devoted mother of five, Barbara worked as a medical secretary at Stella Maris Nursing Home and as an apartment manager in Baltimore, MD. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Barbara enjoyed reading and quilting, but most of all, she loved being a mom and grandma.
Barbara is survived by her four sons, Joseph (& Linda) Zang of Timonium, MD, Kenneth (& Carole) Zang of Las Cruces, NM, Gary (& Debbie) Zanghi of Stewartstown, PA, and Frederick (& Margie) Zang of Towson, MD; her daughter, Joyce (& Dale) Nolte of Fort Collins, CO; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and one on the way. In addition to her husband, Joe, Barbara was predeceased by two sisters, Irma Jean Groberg and Margaret Joyce Saint, and her brother, James Lamar Saint.
