Bernel Alcon, age 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 21st, 2021 at Garden Square Memory Care of Greeley.
Bernel, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt was born in Mora, New Mexico. Bernel resided in Cheyenne, Wyoming and Fort Collins, Colorado for most of her life. Throughout her life, Bernel loved to travel and go on cruises and would often spend time in Blackhawk, Colorado or her favorite place, Las Vegas, Nevada. Bernel was a social butterfly. When she wasn't traveling she enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great-grand children attending their plays, teaching them to fish and filling their bellies with best home cooked food. She will be deeply missed by many. Preceded in death by her parents Jose Alcon and Refugio Urban-Alcon, her daughter Juanita Sanchez, brothers Johnny Alcon, Moses Valdez, Valquin Valdez, Felix Alcon, Louie Alcon, and sisters Fedelina Maes and Maryann Gallegos. She is survived by her daughter Delfina Sanchez, son Hernando Sanchez Jr., 7 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, brother Tony Alcon Sr. and sisters Carmen Villareal, Linda (Cip) Ramos, Andrelita Villapando, and close friends Miguel, Alice, and Mia Martinez.
Graveside services are scheduled for April 24th, 2021 at 11:00am @ Mount Olivet Cemetery (801 E. Pershing Blvd. Cheyenne, Wyoming 82001) with a celebration of life to follow at Knights of Columbus (507 W. 28th St. Cheynne, WY.)
