Bettie Lee (Reffel) Howard, age 78 of Fort Collins, Colorado, formerly of Aurora, died December 6, 2008 at her granddaughter's home in Ft. Collins. A private memorial is being planned. Bettie Reffel was born December 16, 1929 in Ione, Colorado to Theodore and Lydia Reffel. She graduated from Manual High School in Denver in 1947 and married Harold R. Howard on June 19, 1948 in Denver. Harold preceded her in death in May of 2004. In addition to her husband, Harold, she was preceded in death by her son, Jim (James) H. Howard. Bettie worked as a key punch operator for Western Electric and was a organist and music teacher. She enjoyed music and dance, in her younger years; kept her home imaculate; and took great pride in making her house a loving home. She lived most of her life in Aurora; lived previously in Ft. Collins; and briefly in Georgia, while her granddaughter attended college; then they moved back to Fort Collins in 2006. Bettie is survived by her granddaughter, Cheryl K. (Howard) Davidson of Ft. Collins and her brother, Jim Reffel of Aurora.
