Betty Cobb

d. Nov 11, 2020

Betty Jean Cobb passed from this life to her new life November 11, 2020. A private graveside service will be held.

She was born February 20, 1926 in Lindsey, Wisconsin. Soon after her birth they moved to Englewood, Colorado where she completed her schooling. She married William S. Hosey in 1945 while he was stationed in Denver with the Air Corps. After his service they lived in Denver and Broomfield. They had one daugther, Judith.

Following a divorce, she moved to Boulder where she married Harrison Cobb in 1965. Together they traveled extensively in Colorado and adjoining states collecting mineral specimens for study collections. They spent several summers searching out and following Francis Parkman's book "The Oregon Trail", a journey of 1846 through Wyoming and Colorado. Later, Harrison made the research into a book and slide show.

Betty was an ordained Deacon in the Presbyterian Church, past board member of the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra, and in Loveland, a member of the Philo Club and a board member of the Loveland Civic Music Association. In Fort Collins, she was a docent at Avery House and a member of Lincoln Center Support league for many years.

She was a trained doll repair specialist, restoring many antique and vintage dolls. She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter. For many years she provided baby layette items for the New Moms Program for the Larimer County Health Department. Betty was honored by Channel 7 as an "Every Day Hero" for her contributions in 2003.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Harrison in 2003. She is survived by her daughter Judi (Jack) Robinson, granddaughters Kristin Harroun and Laura (Jeremy) Leerssen, six great grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Her paramount interests were her family, friends, music, and gardening.

Because of her love for dogs, it is requested any memorial gifts or donations be given to Larimer County Humane Society.
