Betty Ann Delehoy

d. Jul 1, 2023

Betty Ann Delehoy, age 89 of Fort Collins, CO went home to be with her Lord in heaven on July 1, 2023. A celebration of Betty's life is being planned for later this year.

Betty Ann Dinkel was born in Ness City, Kansas to Alex and Mary Dinkel. She had 11 siblings growing up and her family were farmers and sharecroppers. Her family moved to Northern Colorado when she was a young child and they continued farming throughout Northern Colorado. She graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in the 1940's.

Betty married Raymond Earl Delehoy, Sr. in June of 1953 and from this union, four children were born. For many years, Betty worked as a kitchen manager throughout the Poudre R-1 School District while Ray worked for Woodward Governor. Raymond died in an airplane accident in Hayden, CO in 1982. A few years later, Betty retired from the school district.

Betty's favorite pastime was spent with and caring for her family. When grandchildren came along, she spent as much time as she could doting over them, caring for them and going places with them.

In addition to her husband, Raymond Earl, she was preceded in death by her son, Raymond, Jr. and several siblings. Betty is survived by three children, Cindy Benavidez and David Delehoy, both of Fort Collins and Allen (and Lori) Delehoy of Loveland; nine grandchildren, Elizabeth (Mike) Malinowski, Crystal (Paul) White, Heather (Chris) McDaniels, Fred (Lisa) Delehoy, Michael (Joanna) Benavidez, David (Amanda) Benavidez, Nathaniel Delehoy, Alyssa Delehoy, Matthew Delehoy; 14 Great-grandchildren: Paul Fuchs, Jaina Fuchs, Alex Maliowski, Samuel Malinowski, Christian White, Caleb McDaniels, Alex McDaniels, Shelby McDanels, Oliver Delehoy, Ashley Benavidez, Anthony Benavidez, Addison Benavidez, Violet Benavidez, Jacob Benavidez; and her surviving three brothers: Cleo (Christine) Dinkle, Bob (Beth) Dinkle, Melvin (Etta) Dinkle.

Betty's family requests that any memorial donations please be made to St. Luke's Medical Clinic at 1101 Oakridge Dr., Suite B, Fort Collins, CO 80525. Or to Pathways of Northern Colorado, 305 Carpenter Road, Ft. Collins, CO 80525.
