Betty King

d. Sep 30, 2025

Betty was born on June 7, 1928, in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Earl & Hattie Belle Babcock. She lost her battle with dementia on Tuesday September 30, 2025, at 97 years of age. She is survived by her son Robert King along with 9 grandchildren & 13 great grandchildren with an additional 2 great grandchildren on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 siblings, husband Toxey King & son Richard King.

Betty married Toxey King on May 3, 1951, in Los Angeles, California. Together they had 2 sons Richard & Robert King. Betty was known for her frank personality, her love for vitamins, and her love for gardening. Betty & Toxey owned a restaurant & health food store in the Denver area and later they owned a demo business in Fort Collins. Betty was known for her vitamin advice. Desiccated liver, vitamin C, goldenseal, cayenne pepper, bone meal, and papaya were just a few of her go to home remedies. Betty was a fantastic cook and regularly advocated for whole natural food as being the solution to maintaining good physical health. Whether it was fresh chicken eggs, raw milk, real honey, or garden-fresh vegetables Betty believed that everything the body needed was given to us by what the earth produces due to Jehovah's wonderful creation.

As loving grandmother, Betty was always ready to help her grandchildren pull off ornery tricks on her husband Toxey. She loved horses and loved riding. Her and Toxey built many homes in the Fort Collins, Bellevue, and Wellington area over the years. She loved her farmland, working with her animals, and working outside in her garden. Most important to Betty was her love for the Bible and the promises outlined for the future.

Betty was baptized on June 3, 1951, as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She spent many years in the full-time service teaching many about the truths she loved in the Bible. She loved sharing her faith and continued to share up until her death. She had a strong faith in the future promise of a paradise and would often dream about what life would be like in that paradise. She really hoped we would go back to a horse and buggy way of life.

She spent many hours teaching people about Jehovah God's promises in the bible. One that she held dear is the promise recorded at John 5:28 & 29, which states "All those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life" Betty had faith that Jehovah would keep her safe in his memory and that soon she would be resurrected to perfect health. We her family long for the day when we will see this promise fulfilled and be able to welcome Betty back.
