Billie Jean Harrison

Billie Jean Terry was born on November 2, 1940, in Brashear, Texas to E.C. and Hazle Terry. She was the 4th of 6 daughters, and grew up on the family dairy farm-milking cows, cooking, quilting, and telling the twins what to do!

Billie met her husband, Freddie, when they both worked at the Montgomery Wards store in Dallas. They married on October 21, 1961 and were married 43 years before Freddie’s passing. Billie and Freddie lived in Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado, and raised 3 sons-Allen (Susan), Garry (Eugenia), and Tony (Kathy). Billie has 10 grandchildren-David, Michael, Lisa, Kelly, Matthew, Jessica, Grace, Sage, Benjamin and William, 2 honorary grandchildren-Nique and Jake, and 6 great-grandchildren-Hayden, Hunter, Hendrix, Peyton, Braxton, and Hope.

As a mom, Billie was a Sunday School teacher, room mother, den mother and attended all of her sons’ sporting events. As a grandmother, she attended as many events (games, matches, races, recitals, 4-H fairs, art shows, etc.) as possible for her grandchildren-always bringing a purse full of snacks and fresh baked cookies for any nearby hungry kid. Billie enjoyed cooking, quilting, gardening, watching sports, and hosting family get-togethers. Her fruitcake and chocolate logs were a hit every Christmas. Billie’s quilts keep us warm at night and her cooking is why we could all shed a few pounds!

During her time in Colorado, Billie was a member of Meadowlark Church of Christ, involved in Women’s Bible Class and volunteering in the kitchen. She never missed church or her Friday morning hair appointment-thank you Ashley for making her feel beautiful!

Billie was preceded in death by her parents, sister Cloell, husband Freddie, grandson David, and great-granddaughter Hope.

She passed on July 17, 2026 after a long and hard-fought battle with dementia. A big thank you to family, friends, the good Samaritans when she broke her hip, paramedics, doctors, nurses, and Hospice staff for all the love and care you poured into Billie over the last few years.
