Bonnie Bonita Clifton, 89, from Craig, CO, passed away on April 2, 2022 in Loveland, CO. Bonnie was born to Leo and Ruth (Phipps) Dunn and raised in Craig, CO. After graduation from Moffat County High School Bonnie attended the University of Wyoming. She played clarinet in the marching band that was invited to march and play at the Gator Bowl on January 1, 1951 where her brother Darwin played for the University of Wyoming Football team.
Bonnie married the love of her life, Donald Leroy Clifton, on July 1, 1951 and they were in their 71st year of marriage at the time of her passing. Bonnie worked at East Elementary School for many years as the Secretary and loved her time with all the little ones. Together, her and Don owned three restaurants and a furniture store in Craig, Colorado. They moved to Denver in the late 80's where Bonnie obtained employment with Hamilton Properties as a leasing agent and worked there until she was 85-years-old.
Bonnie enjoyed spending her time crafting, canning, embroidery and most of all, entertaining friends and family. She spent many hours creating gifts for all of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Donald Clifton, of Loveland, CO, Tina Johnson of Fort Collins, Colorado, Carl (Candy) Clifton of Denver, Colorado, Ko (Angi) Clifton of Firestone, Colorado, Cindy (Jack) South of Eaton, Colorado and Sandy Garcia of Loveland Colorado, and Brother Lonnie (Tora) Dunn of Eaton, Colorado. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren of which she loved dearly.
Bonnie is preceded by her parents, and two brothers Donald Dunn of Rangley, Colorado and Darwin Dunn of Baggs, Wyoming.
A celebration of Life will occur this coming summer and the location will be disseminated using social media or personal contact from the family.
