Bonnie Jean (Harris-Collins) Hampton returned to her Heavenly Father on December 24, 2012 due to complications of Parkinson's. Bonnie was born December 22, 1938 in Sacramento, CA to James A Harris and Eunice M Harris.
Bonnie was survived in death by four children: Daniel L DeCoopman, Kimberly J Neasbitt, Kenneth J Hampton, and Melody D. Pizzi. She was also survived by brother Russ, brother Ken,brother Tom,sister Lavern, and brother Allen. Bonnie also is survived by10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother Eunice M Nopens (Harris), her father James A Harris, and sister Annette Mathias.
Bonnie spent most of her young life in Colorado. She attended and graduated from West High School in Denver in 1957. As a military wife Bonnie lived in many places and had lots of adventures all across the United States. She returned to what she called her home state in 1984. She loved Colorado and enjoyed her time here for the remainder of her life.
Bonnie enjoyed dancing, square dancing, jitterbug, two step,and she was very good at the continental, as long as she could move to the music. She liked to craft, sew, and garden, she loved to plan theme parties and decorate for holidays.
Most of her adult life she put her heart into being a homemaker and raising her children. She did work retail part-time for the military BX and the later in life she worked a few years for the JCPenny Corp. She was a dedicated employee and was proud of the customer service awards she received.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served in several different auxiliaries such as Young Women's and Relief Society. She loved to serve others and follow the example of her Savior Jesus Christ.
Memorial Service for Bonnie will be held January 19, 2013 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Johnstown, Colorado at 2pm.
