Brian E. Murray

d. Feb 28, 2025

Brian Ellis Murray, 53, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025, due to natural causes.

Born on May 19, 1971, in El Paso, Texas, Brian was the cherished son of Colonel Donald Wayne Murray and Judith Ann Murray (Burnett). Growing up in a military family, Brian lived in various places including Italy, Hawaii, Texas, Pennsylvania, and Colorado, experiencing a rich and diverse childhood. One of his fondest memories was savoring pizza in Italy—an experience he cherished throughout his life. Brian also lived in Arizona for a short time in the mid 1990's.

Brian graduated from high school in Colorado Springs in 1989 and later pursued a degree in Computer Gaming at Cad Cam. He went on to have a fulfilling career in tech, working at Broadcom Technologies, where he enjoyed designing computer chips and truly loved the work he did.

Beyond his career, Brian had many hobbies that brought him joy. He was an avid pool player and had a special fondness for cruising his remote-control trucks with the neighborhood kids. He could often be found sipping his favorite Pepsi while indulging in these pastimes.

Brian shared many happy summers with his family at Lake Powell, joining his late aunt Royalene Murray Thomas, late uncle Kent Thomas, brother Gary, late sister Julie, cousins May and Jody, nephew Jeff, and several dear family friends. The family would often gather for hikes, fishing trips, and water skiing. One of his uncle Kent's fondest memories to recall was the way Brian would excitedly signal he was ready to ski by softly calling out, "weady."

Brian leaves behind his beloved brother, Gary (Jenny) Murray, his nephew, Jeffrey (Allie) Murray, cousins May (Eric) Harris and Jody (George) Mattena, as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Colonel Donald Wayne Murray and Judith Ann Murray, his sister Julie Ann Murray, his Aunt Royalene Murray Thomas, Uncle Kent Thomas, and his grandparents, Wayne Leonard and Esther Raff Murray, and Ruben and Muriel Burnett.

A private interment was held at Rawlins City Cemetery in Wyoming, where Brian was laid to rest beside his family.

Brian will be remembered for his warm heart, passion for technology, and his deep love for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
