Brian was born on February 12, 1956, to Harold and Janet Shear. He grew up as the son of a distinguished Colonel (Army) who was stationed at many bases. Brian attended elementary school in France, something he always appreciated and that also resulted in his lifetime love of knights and castles. He graduated from Adams City High School in Commerce City, CO and then graduated from University of Colorado Boulder with a degree in Civil and Structural Engineering.
For the past 37 years, Brian owned and operated Shear Engineering. He engineered and created plans for new developments, constructing countless buildings and additions to businesses in Colorado, Wyoming, and Nebraska.
After dating for 17 years, Brian married Yvonne Berg Wallace on October 8, 2005. They were married in the brand-new Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fort Collins, a church they remained active in. Together they enjoyed family gatherings, road trips and many travel experiences, including the twice a year trips to Vail. They lovingly celebrated every month anniversary with cards and dinners out.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne M. Shear; his stepdaughter, Mandy Schaal (Judy Karg, mother), of Greeley, CO; two stepsons, Steve Wallace (Lisa) of Loveland and Randy Wallace (Heather) of Fort Collins; two grandchildren, Olivia and Hunter; three step-grandchildren, Meagan, Justin (Chelsey) and Matt; and two great-grandsons, Jaxon and Cole. Having a blended family Brian had many sibling-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
