Bruce A. Pino

Bruce Anthony Pino, 63, of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away peacefully Saturday June 11, 2022 with his family by his side at UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies. He was born July 9, 1958 in Sacramento, California to Janet and Frank Pino.

Bruce was from a military family and was first diagnosed at the age 13 with kidney problems. In 1972, while his father was stationed in Germany, Bruce and his mother Janet were Medevaced Stateside. At that time, the only military facility set up to care for kidney patients and dialysis was Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. As his condition grew worse, the family was tested to check for a kidney match. In 1977 Bruce's sister Robin was deemed a grade "A" match. Kidney transplants were still new to the medical field. Bruce and his parents were told a transplant would last anywhere from 10 to 15 years. As it turned out Bruce is one of the longest living recipients in the world after having survived over four decades from a living donor transplant. May 18th has always been celebrated by the family as Kidney Day with chili with kidney beans or kidney shaped cakes or with just getting together to embrace another year.

Bruce graduated in 1977 from Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins, Colorado. He married Judi (Kendall) Voss July 22, 1978, the same day as his parent's anniversary. Bruce was unable to have children, but if he could have, he stated he would name a girl Haley Pino, she would be his Jalapeno. That was his sense of humor. For a boy he chose Phillip, I'm sure you can figure that one out.

Bruce began working for the County in Fort Collins and later went on to work for the Water District in Walden, Colorado. Bruce and Judi moved back to Fort Collins where he worked for the Fort Collins/Loveland Water District. He would work there 3 months shy of 20 years. In that time Bruce and Judi divorced. He would later marry Ann Genua. They loved gardening and the many pets they had. A great passion they both shared was getting out on their Harley Davidson's. This marriage dissolved in 2018.
Bruce came into this world as a free spirit. He had a great sense of humor and a big heart…

Bruce's health began to decline after having a stroke in 2018 and needed to live in assisted living in Bethesda Gardens in Loveland, Colorado.

Bruce was proceeded in death by his father Frank Pino. He is survived by his mother Janet Pino, his sister Robin (Pat) Busteed, his sister Kim Pino Beldon, his Nephews Shawn (Kenley) Busteed, Chris Busteed and Mason Beldon, many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Lifelong Friends…

You will be missed by many. Ride On Brother…. You will never be forgotten…
