Carl "Bud" Engelbrecht passed away on Easter Sunday, 04/17/2022 in the presence of his "Immediate Family" and "Spiritual Family". Carl, who most people knew as "Bud" or "High-pockets" was born on October 12,1941 in North Platte, Nebraska. His parents were Carl August Engelbrecht and Wanda (Easton) Engelbrecht. He spent his early childhood in the Ogallala/ North Platte, Nebraska area helping work the family farm. His Family moved to Ft Collins in the late 1940's where he subsequently attended Dunn School, Lincoln Jr High and Ft Collins High School. He Married His High School Sweetheart, Carol Faye (Miller) in October of 1961 and remained married to Carol for the rest of his life. The next 60 years he spent driving Semi Trucks for Hersh Trucking and most recently for his Friend Ray and Kurt Burgener. It's estimated he drove over 8,000,000 miles without an accident. He loved most forms of Auto Racing, especially Open Wheel Racing. The last race he attended was in 2021 at one of his "Bucket List" races, the Knoxville Sprint Car Nationals. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Wanda and Sister Julie(Judy). He is survived by and will be dearly missed by his Wife Carol, Sisters, Linda and Debbie, Brother Jerry, Sons and Daughters in Law, Jeff & Kristy Engelbrecht , Greg & Shelly Engelbrecht. Son, Todd Engelbrecht & Daughter & Son in Law, Jill Carroll and Dake Carroll. He is also survived by 8 Grand Children and 2 Great GrandChildren.

A Life Celebration will be held at Timberline Church, 2908 South Timberline Road, Fort Collins, CO.
