Dr. Carol Weems Lind

Jan 14, 1964 — Dec 20, 2025

Dr. Carol Weems Lind, DVM, age 61, passed away on December 20, 2025, in Aurora, Colorado. She was born on January 14, 1964, in El Paso, Texas. Carol was raised in El Paso along with her siblings Scott and Marian. Carol loved horses and enjoyed spending time at the Poki Roni Stables, taking care of and riding her horse City Slicker.

Carol earned her Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University in 1986 and went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Texas A&M Veterinary School in 1990. Her dedication to animal care led to a fulfilling 27-year career as a small animal veterinarian in the Phoenix area, where she served clients and their pets with professionalism and empathy. She was also proud of missing only one day of work due to illness throughout her entire career.

A passionate supporter of the Texas A&M Aggies football and St. Louis Blues hockey teams, Carol brought enthusiasm to all aspects of her life. She loved horseback riding, and several wilderness horse-pack trips with husband Dan were among the highlights of the many travels they shared. An avid reader, Carol volunteered with the 'Reading for the Blind' organization, recording medical textbooks in the 1990s. With a sharp wit and expansive vocabulary, it was joked that Carol could use her "words like daggers", although always in good fun.

Carol found joy in travel, music, camping, outdoor adventures with Dan, and spending time relaxing, reading and cooking at their cabin in Pine, Arizona. Having guests over for homemade pizza was always something to look forward to (even though Dan would steal the credit for the pizzas that she did all the prep work for). She absolutely loved any time spent with best friends. She enjoyed working with her great friend Wendy Larsen and her Australian shepherds. She cherished her enduring friendships with Steve and Ninon Steffy. Her bond with Dr. Barbara Wolfe, DVM—her best friend since college—remained a constant source of joy. Christmases were made special by celebrations with Terry and Debbie Keller and their family. In 2019 Carol donated a kidney to her very best friend, her sister Marian.

Carol is survived by her husband Daniel Lind, her sister Marian L'Huillier; nieces Laura L'Huillier Frazier, Erin L'Huillier Roewe, Brenna Weems, and nephew Jardon Weems. She was preceded in death by her father Jardon Newman Weems; mother Mary Nell Deshazo; brother Dr. John Scott Weems, DVM; brother-in-law John L'Huillier; uncles John and Jack Deshazo; and aunt Bonner Deshazo.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to support the Carol Weems Lind Memorial Scholarship at the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences.
