A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 31st at St. Joseph Church, Mountain and Howes Streets, Ft. Collins. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. Carolyn Glover was born February 6, 1927 in Topeka, Kansas to Otis and Anona Glover. She grew up in Manhattan, Kansas and married Leonard "Yank" Banowetz on September 19, 1948. They lived formerly in Wichita and moved to Fort Collins in 1966. Yank, a longtime Ft. Collins Attorney, died in 2003. Carolyn enjoyed nothing better than to sit at the kitchen table and drink coffee with her friends and family. She was well known for her work at many estate sales over the years. Many also knew her as a kindly Mrs. Santa Claus, partnered with Yank, the ultimate St. Nick. And not to forget… the dozens of Christmas cookies she made every year. Carolyn also participated in several other past times such as playing bridge (which she even played the night before she died); other card games from hearts to spades to poker; oil painting (and many of her paintings hang in her children's homes); book clubs; and PEO. She is survived by her four children, Kristi (and John) MacKinnon of Windham, Maine, Michael (and Mindy) Banowetz of Denver, Steven (and Michele) Banowetz of Fort Collins and Lynn (and Thomas) MacKay of Franktown, Colorado; two brothers, Bill Glover of Minnetonka, MN and Jack Glover of Farmington, NM; her sister, Ann Parry of Rolla, Missouri; and eight grandchildren.
