Carolyn Hoodmaker

d. Feb 18, 2019

Carolyn Joyce (Fraser) Hoodmaker passed away February 18, 2019 in Fort Collins, Colorado.

She was born July 6, 1933 to Ruth (Sherman) and Robert Manley Fraser in Overland Park, Kansas. Carolyn always felt that she was blessed to be born into loving family. She grew up in a wonderful neighborhood with lifelong friends who called themselves the "80th Street Gang". Carolyn graduated from Shawnee Mission High School and then attended Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas. At Baker, Carolyn made countless friends that she kept in touch for the rest of her life.

After graduating from Baker in 1955, Carolyn moved to Denver with a group of college friends. She eventually settled in Fort Collins, Colorado, where she lived for 50 years. Carolyn worked as an accountant at Edgerton Travel, raised her family, and enjoyed the Fort Collins community. Friends and family were most important to Carolyn and she treasured spending time socializing and catching up with people.

Carolyn had many accomplishments in her full life, including her career, travel, volunteering, socializing, etc., but she often said "The most important accomplishment of my lifetime is to have successfully raised my two sons to be happy and well-adjusted adults and to have become very good husbands and fathers. I am so very proud of them and love them and their families dearly."

She is survived by two sons, Steve and John, five grandchildren, her sister Martha (Fraser) Couch, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Betty (Fraser) Stout, and brother 'Lefty' Robert Manley Fraser Jr.
