Catherine O. Bostak of Fort Collins, CO, passed away on July 25, 2026. Cathy was born on February 27, 1940 in Allentown, PA, the daughter of John Michler and Anna (Krishko) Michler. Cathy’s love of music began at an early age, and she took piano lessons throughout her childhood. Music became a large part of her life.
After high school, she worked briefly for Pennsylvania Power and Light in Allentown, PA, where she met the love of her life, Ronald Bostak. Cathy and Ron married on September 29, 1962 and settled in Annandale, Virginia, where they raised their two sons, Jeff and Chris.
Cathy was a dedicated and loving mother, prioritizing her children’s education as they were growing up. In keeping with her love of music, she became a piano teacher, a labor of love for almost 50 years. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed making all kinds of crafts. After Cathy and Ron became empty nesters, she joined several bands including the Washington Redskins Marching Band, and the Washington Balalaika Society. She frequently visited her family in California and Colorado, and enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ron and her brother Daniel. She is survived by sons Jeff and Chris Bostak, their spouses Julia Hutchinson and Debbie Bostak, and three grandchildren, Sam, Max, and Renée. Also surviving are cousins Joan Feskanin and Edward Yurick. Cathy will be remembered at a private family memorial to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
