Charles E. Klick was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on July 1, 1920 and passed away February 1, 2010. He was raised in Sherwood, Oregon, a suburb of Portland, and after graduation from high school in 1937, served as a Navy blimp pilot based in Tillamook, Oregon, patrolling off the coast for Japanese submarines. He graduated in 1949 with an engineering degree from Oregon State University. His main career until retirement was as a specifications engineer for Lockheed Aircraft, where he had a role in the development of the SR71 Blackbird and the S3A submarine hunter. He retired in 1978. He enjoyed a marriage of almost 67 years with mom. Having lived in the Los Angeles area during the 50's through 1978, they moved to Oceanside, California, until 2001, when they moved to Fort Collins. Mom passed away just last September, and his earthly resting place will be with mom at Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside. He is survived by daughters Claudia Smith and son Bob Klick of Fort Collins, a daughter Christine in Madera, California, and 14 grand and great grandchildren. He is predeceased by brothers Daniel and Monte, both of the Portland, Oregon area, and fortunately, his savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Memorial mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton on Friday, February 12th at 10:00am.
