Charles (Bob) Pratt, 89 of Fort Collins, died January 30, 2010 at his home after a short illness. A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 12:00 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1709 West Elizabeth St., Fort Collins, Colorado. Concluding rights by Fort Collins All Veterans Honor Guard. Charles Robert Pratt was born October 26, 1920 in Janesville, Wisconsin to Charles and Elizabeth Pratt. He served with the Combat Engineers in the U. S. Army during WWII in France and Germany. After his discharge, Charles became a hair stylist and soon met Lois Case. On August 9, 1950, Charles and Lois were married in Elbowoods , North Dakota and together they have five children. In 1951, Charles and Lois moved to Ft. Collins from Beloit, Wisconsin where he began working at the Gray Rose Hair Salon in downtown Ft. Collins. He owned and operated the salon until retiring in 1986. He was a member and a Deacon of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He also served years ago as a Deacon at Congregational Church. Charles was a member of the Masonic Order; The Knights of the Round Table; the Jaycees; and the Colorado Hair Fashion Committee. He also served as a committee member and was involved with Boy Scouts. Charles was especially pleased to have the opportunity to be part of the Honor Flight for WWII veterans this past September. He enjoyed cooking, playing golf, stamp collecting, woodworking, gardening and playing bridge. Charles is survived by his wife, Lois; five children, Robin (and Dan) Peterson of Fort Laramie, WY, Charles (and Marti) Pratt of Centennial, CO, Brian Pratt (and Chris Landrum) of Walsenburg, CO, Mandy (and David) Barrett of Kirbyville, MO and Tim Pratt of Castle Rock, CO; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and his brother, Vaughn Pratt of Edgerton, WI. He was preceded in death by grandsons, Darby and Matt; a granddaughter, Rosquita; a son-in-law, Lee; and brothers, James and Duane. In lieu of flowers his family requests that any memorial donations please be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Donor Alliance in his name.
