Charlotte L. Wilson

Fort Collins, Colorado resident Charlotte L. Wilson, formerly of Cumberland, Maryland and Clarksburg, West Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 5 in Fort Collins. She was 87 years of age.

Charlotte L. Lafferty was born on September 7, 1935 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, one of eight children born to Melvin R. and Christine L. (Eagle) Lafferty. She graduated from Rosevelt Wilson High School in Nutter Fort, West Virginia with the class of 1955.

Charlotte was united in marriage to Jesse Frank Wilson, Sr. at the Eastview Methodist Church in Clarksburg, West Virginia, on December 27, 1954. To this union, five children were born, Jesse Wilson, Jr., Janet, Bryan, Donald, and Charlotte.

She enjoyed being at home, raising her children. She was an accomplished painter, enjoyed reading poetry, and working on crafts. She especially cherished the time spent with her family and grandchildren.
Preceding Charlotte in death were her parents, and siblings Robert Lafferty, Ronald Lafferty, James Lafferty, and Frances Childress.

Those left to cherish her memory, are her loving husband of 68 years, Jesse Wilson, Sr., her children Jesse Wilson Jr. and his wife Dina, Janet Pratt and her husband Richard, Bryan Wilson and his wife Violet, Donald Wilson and his wife Shelle, and Charlotte Tackett and her husband Matthew. Surviving siblings Alberta Loar and her husband Albert, Geral Lafferty and his wife Elaine, and sister-in-law Jackie Lafferty. She is also survived by 14 loving grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made in Charlotte's name to the Shriner's Children Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.
