Christine Ann Polazzi

d. Oct 24, 2020

The world lost a wonderful woman on Saturday, October 24, 2020 when Christine Polazzi, Joe's wife and Lisa and Anthony's mother, lost her battle with cancer.

A brilliant tactician with advice like: "Don't elbow them back, elbow them the next time down the floor" and "become an engineer, then you'll have lots of money and can have lots of pets" (okay, we didn't always listen). Chris (mom) was a lover of nature: hiker, master naturalist, and expert dip netter. She was A lifelong learner: she took up snow shoeing when she retired and was taking a course about sculpture remotely in the weeks before she died. A world traveler: From China and Tibet to Russia to Africa to Europe to the Galapagos and all sorts of places in between. But mostly, was a woman who loved her family, made Christmas cookies, came to flyball tournaments and put together treasure hunts for the grand kids.

Christine Kudlick was born September 5, 1949 in Chicago to Marion and Marcella Kudlick. She was the middle child between two loving brothers. She attended St. Tarcissius Catholic Elementary and Middle School and graduated from Resurrection Catholic High School in Chicago. She received her Bachelor of Science degree and met her husband to be, Joseph, at Purdue University. They were married 50 years ago at St. Tarcissius Church.

Chris was a Computer Teacher's Aid, then spent several years in marketing but went back to Teacher's Aid work; spending the remainder of her career teaching special needs children.

She is survived by her husband, Joe; son, Anthony (and Rachel) Polazzi of Lighthouse Point, FL; daughter, Lisa Polazzi of Valparaiso, IN; four grandchildren Andrew, Matthew, Katherine, and Evelyn; and two brothers, Mark Kudlick of Prescott, AZ and Dean Kudlick of Mountain View, CA.
